Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish.
This week's theme is: ten series that I want to read in the (near) future!
So, I'm pretty horrible when it comes to series. The long ones intimidate me, and I usually prefer to read stand-alones for the most part. But there are a ton of series on my TBR list, and some are definitely more urgent than others. So without further ado, here are the ten series that I'm hoping to get through within the next year or so.
- The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon: So many people at work have read and loved this, and I have customers recommending it all of the time. It's long and intimidating, but it's been bumped up on my list now that the TV series is out.
- The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer: This series has been hanging around on my ereader for months now. It looks fantastic, so I'd say that it's about time that I get to it!
- The Partholon series by P.C. Cast: I bought the first book on recommendation about a year ago. It's well out of my comfort zone (it's romance, with some time travel elements), but I love anything that's adapted from Greek mythology.
- The American Vampire series by Scott Snyder (graphic novels): Graphic novels, historical fiction, vampires, and Stephen King? Count me in!
- The Fables series by Bill Willingham (graphic novels): Another one of the graphic novel series that has been kicking around in my mind. This series is based on fairy tale creatures disguised as normal New Yorkers.
- Ten Tiny Breaths series by K.A. Tucker: I'm new to the New Adult genre, but this series has some stellar reviews on Goodreads and in the blogosphere. I actually have the first book on hold at work right now.
- Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong: I've been watching this TV series on Netflix, and I'm addicted! I want to at least start the book series before I finish the TV adaptation, even if it is super long!
- The Blood of Eden series by Julie Kagawa: This series was really popular when it first came out, and I've owned the first book since about then. It sounds like it's right up my alley (vampires...), so I'm not sure why I haven't picked it up yet!
- Study series by Maria V. Snyder: Maria Snyder is one of my all-time favorite authors and I really need to pick up her other books. This series looks amazing, and reminds me a lot of Throne of Glass. It's about a criminal who takes a job tasting the king's meals in case of poison.
- All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness: Witches, vampires, libraries, oh my! I actually don't know a ton about this series, but I've been told that it's wonderful.
